Happenings of the Harper Household - Review & Giveaway
A few months ago I wrote a blog post about the Doopsy™ SD Pocket Diaper which came with the Super Doopsy™ Insert. I honestly was having a love hate relationship with these diapers - I have 5 of them. I love how absorbent they are. I love how trim they are. I love the bright vibrant colors. I love how fast the inserts dry. However, I did not like stuffing the inserts. I know. I know. It’s only an additional step and it’s not really that difficult, but anything that makes life easier is a winner in my book. Something I love is when a company sees that a product can be improved and then actually does it. Well Doopsy™ did just that! And here it is… To READ MORE / ENTER the GIVEAWAY, PRESS HERE!

… The new version comes with a microfiber doubler that you stuff into the insert for extra absorbency…
Over all I really like this insert. I like that it is easier to use. You still don’t need to un-stuff it before washing which is great. I used this on my 10 month old and he went to bed before getting changed and it lasted about 6 hours on him before leaking. I’m sure it would have gone longer if it had a few extra washings done to it… To READ MORE / ENTER the GIVEAWAY, PRESS HERE!

With both styles of inserts, the PUL layer is the same and I love that feature. It is a great way to bulk up your diaper with some extra leakage protection for a longer car trip, nap time or overnight. I also like that the pocket insert will fit inside other pocket diapers, which makes it very versatile.
I found that the new insert style is perfect for nap time… It comes in great colors, it is easy to use and is interchangeable with other diaper brands. It washed and dried well and is a well made pocket insert. Most importantly (for me at least!), it can absorb like nobody’s business! It keeps little man happy and dry… To READ MORE / ENTER the GIVEAWAY, PRESS HERE!
Here it goes, my first big review! Are you stoked? I bet you are…So let’s jump right in!
I had the opportunity to review a Doopsy diaper! It is was a One Size Pocket Diaper-Style SD. It came with a Super Doopsy PUL insert/soaker and a microfiber insert. This was my first time ever trying a Doopsy diaper, so as I’m sure you can imagine I was really eager to try it out!
I cloth diaper my daughter, but I have just come to realize recently how many different cloth diapering options there are. Who knew? So I’ve been doing quite a bit of research, and found that there was a whole cloth diapering world that I was oblivious to. Up until I received our Doopsy diaper, I was cloth diapering during the day, and using disposables at night and while we were out. My daughter gets diaper rashes and infections very frequently. Seeing as she is a heavy wetter, it has made finding the perfect night/nap time diaper rather difficult, but I was determined to find one. So, I tried the Doopsy diaper out the first day that it arrived! I read that the absorbency will only increase after multiple washes (major plus!) So I tried it out for the first time at bedtime. I checked on my daughter throughout the night and guess what? NO leaks, what-so-ever! I was shocked. I swore that couldn’t be possible, due to all of the trouble I’d had with other cloth diapers. It just couldn’t be that easy. So, I put it to the test… again… and again… and again. We are concluding one week of using the Doopsy diaper at night (and of course washing it during the days!), and I am still amazed! This diaper is wonderful! I honestly can’t wait to purchase a few more! I have already been browsing at www.babyecomart.com to see what is available.
The Doopsy has numerous sizes and combinations of sizes. So far, our best fitting size is the tightest around the waste, and the biggest on the bum. I love that this diaper will grow WITH my daughter, and that it is so incredibly
easy to use! Doopsy has numerous sizes and combinations of sizes. So far, our best fitting size is the tightest around the waste, and the biggest on the bum. I love that this diaper will grow WITH my daughter, and that it is so incredibly easy to use!
I also love the fact that this diaper has heavy duty inserts! This is such a well-thought out diaper. Everything is sewn so well, and I am really impressed with the durability. Also, I noticed that compared to other cloth diapers, these dry so quickly! I wasn’t having to wait around for hours for it to dry. Which is such a relief seeing as I only had one Doopsy diaper to use each night, so I was washing & drying it daily. Now I just can’t wait to get more, I don’t ever want my daughter to go a night in another diaper!
Cloth diapering has been quite the learning experience for us but we are finally getting to the point where we know what kinds of diapers we like and which ones we don’t! I love the pocket diapers with liners because I can add more liners as needed for naptime and at night. I was recently sent a diaper from Doopsy to review and I am in love with this diaper!!!
What I love about our Doopsy:
First of all, I love the color! It’s the prettiest blue color and it looks so precious on our little guy! This color is “Smiley Blue.”
Second, I love all of the snap options. This diaper fits great and has a lot of room for our baby to grow too! I can adjust the snaps to get the perfect fit so the diaper doesn’t leak but isn’t too tight on his chunky legs or chubby belly either!
Third, the liner system is amazing! It came with a regular liner for the pocket and also an extra pocket with waterproof lining on the outside. This is perfect for bedtime and I have never seen this type of liner!
One thing I’ve discovered after testing out diapers is that you might discover the perfect pocket, but you are not crazy about the size, price, absorbency, or style of the insert. You might also like using prefolds or fitteds, but need an extra layer of absorbency. You could also be like our family and need a more absorbent night-time solution that doesn’t compromise the fit of a diaper or require you to purchase special “overnight” diapers.
When I came across the Doopsy line of inserts, their unique style intrigued me. This insert claims to be affordable, slim, super absorbent, and a universal fit for all diaper styles and brands. Doopsy is recommended as a great way to breathe new life into old diapers and for use with new diapers. At a retail price of $11.95, I wondered if the Doopsy could be an economy solution to creating a more absorbent stash.
The Super Doopsy insert is different from other inserts and liners I have tried because it is essentially a long insert made of PUL fabric on one side and 4 layers of Bamboo terry (very soft) on the other. If you want additional absorbency, the Super Doopsy has a pocket for a removable Extra Absorbency pad made out of 2 layers of Bamboo hemp terry (other fabrics coming in the future). You can leave the insert in the pocket for washing because it agitates out in the wash by itself. The inserts come in cool array of solid color options, as well three fun animal prints. I received the zebra and liked the whimsy of having an added design, which actually looked cute as the print peek-a-booed out of a solid color diaper.
I was impressed by the slim design of this pocket, but honestly still had my doubts about the bulk it might create in my favorite diaper brands. After pre-washing the Super Doopsy, I decided to test it in an Apple Cheeks Diaper. I love the design and fit of this diaper, but I’m not crazy about the cost or night-time absorbency of the inserts. I was pleasantly surprised to learn that the Doopsy fit very well into my Apple Cheeks size 2 diaper, even with the Extra Absorbency Pad, for day and did not compromise the fit. This held true when I added the Super Doopsy with the traditional pad for night-time. My heavy wetter stayed dry in a diaper I could not previously use at night!
I don’t often have the opportunity to review inserts on their own as most of the inserts are included with the diapers (although typically available separately as well) and the Doopsy insert is something a little different on the market. Super Doopsy and Doopsy Inserts, also available with Doopsy diapers, incorporate a layer of PUL into the bottom layer of the insert for added leak protection or to add a little boost of protection to your old diapers/PUL.
The insert was absorbent, could be stuffed inside a pocket diaper or set on top, and dried relatively quickly due to it’s construction. The only downside is that re-stuffing the insert back into itself, which is sort of like stuffing a pocket diaper, was a little bit of a struggle for my large hands. The Super Doopsy insert also includes a booster which can be stuffed into the pocket in the center of the insert for added absorption, great for naptime, toddlers and heavy wetters.
I felt that the insert held up to it’s absorption and leak protection promises and have used it during the day and naptime with my toddler with success. These Inserts are available in a number of different sizes and can be used with many kinds of diapers including on top of prefolds, set inside covers, in pocket diapers or fitted diapers.
Hi Amy here. Now that I have two kids in diapers, I am having great fun reviewing one size diapers and trying them out on both of my kids! It is really neat to be able to see how the diaper will fit on a little one and how it will continue to perform on an older child! Our second one size diaper review and giveaway, brought to you by Jessica and John, is the Doopsy Cloth Diaper! Unfortunately, this will also be the last cloth diaper giveaway in which both Jessica and John participate in product testing because Jessica up and decided that she was done with diapers!!!
The Doopsy Cloth Diaper is a pocket diaper that comes in 5 bright colors with many different options to meet the needs of the many different cloth diapering families! The “R” style diaper comes with two 4 layer microfiber inserts for just $14.95! The “D” style diaper comes with one 4 layer microfiber insert AND a Doopsy PUL insert/bamboo soaker to give you extra protection from leaks all for just $15.95! This unique insert/soaker can also be easily adjusted to fit infants between 10 and 35 lbs as well. Exceptional absorbency, leak protection, and a trim fit with a variety of price options available! This is truly one of the most versatile cloth diapers on the market!
Have you heard about the new Doopsy™ Diaper? It is new species of cloth diaper’s featuring a one size pocket diaper that comes with a pul insert/soaker, giving this diaper superior leak protection.
I could not wait to prep my diaper and put it to the test! I received a “Smiley Blue” one size pocket diaper to try. This diaper was easy to adjust by simply snapping it down to get the perfect fit.
What makes this diaper differ from the rest? It gives you maximum absorbency - in addition to the PUL layer, SUPER Doopsy™ Insert has 4 layers of Bamboo Double Loop Terry (70% Bamboo, 28% Organic Cotton, 2% Spandex) PLUS a removable Extra Absorbency Pad made out of 2 Bamboo Hemp Terry Layers (30% Hemp, 70% Bamboo). This diaper is also super trim. It gives you all the protection you need without all that bulk and the inside is made out of soft, stay dry microfleece. I also like that these inserts can fit any diapering system, so they are totally interchangeable. I can pair this with a fitted for extra protection or any diapering system. Their unique design allows for faster drying time. That is a huge plus for me.
How kids view the Doopsy Diapers… LOL… What you will find here is a funny perspective of a 12 years old girl about how to use cloth diapers. You are not going to get " the most accurate" information, so just go to Doopsy.com for details
